Guru Smt.Sri Nandini

Having started at the young age of 6, she trained under Nritya Kalakesari Pandanallur P.Ganapathiappa for over two decades. She taught Bharatanatyam for a couple of years in New York before her passion for dance led her to create Nandini’s The 9th Count Dance Academy when she returned to India.

She has recently received: “PERUVUDAYAR NARIYAL AASAN” award at Malaysia on Sept 29th 2019.

ABINAYA SARASWATHI” title at the International Nrityanjali Dance Festival at the Angkor Wat Temple, Cambodia on May 27th 2019 by the Department of Culture and Fine Arts, Cambodia in association with the Thillai Natyanjali Trust and Tanjavur Heritage Arts and Cultural Academy.

The “NRITYA KALAIMANI” AWARD and “KUBERA NATIYA SELVAM” at the Natyanjali dance festival February 2019 in Tamil Nadu, India.

Awarded the title – “CHIDAMBARESA NATIYA KALAIMANI” at the Guinness World Record event and set a record of 7400 dancers dancing at one place for the longest duration of 16 minutes at the Thillai Natrajar Temple, Chidambaram February 2019.

She has also received the Kalpasree West Kensington award at London /

She was the Artistic Director for the Tamil New Year Cultural event organised by the Frankfurt Tamil Sangam at Frankfurt, Germany

Her television performances include the Natyanjali Dance series in Shankaa Tv, and Footloose – A Mathrubhumi Kappa TV Production.

She along with her disciples have performed at the Chidambaram Natyanjali Dance festival, Chinnamelam Dance festival, Kapaleeswarar temple chennai, Naradhagana Sabha Chennai and many more.

Nandini’sThe 9th count dance academy aims at only one thing – To nurture and appreciate the love for dance. She provides a space for anyone with the interest and always wanted her students to love to come to dance. Her choreographic skills are matched only by her dedication to her students and dance, unfolding the best in her disciples. Today she can proudly say that the very reason for establishing this academy has come true.

Mrs.Sowmya Sriram - Publick Relations & Senior Instructor

sowmyaSmt Sowmya Sriram nurtured an interest in Bharathanatyam since her childhood and began her training under KalaiSudarmani Guru Smt Vadivu Devi, Thanjavur at the age of 8 years and continued her learning in Kala Kaveri College of Fine Arts in Trichy.

Since 2015, she is learning the Pandanallur style of Bharathanatyam under the eminent Guru Smt Sri Nandini which enriched her knowledge and deepened the involvement in the dance. Her performing career also began under Guru Smt Sri Nandini and has a credit to performing in prestigious festivals like Natyanjali in Thillai Natrajar temple – Chidambaram, Thiruvayaru, Gangaikonda Cholapuram, Perur – Coimbatore, famous temples like Thanjavur Brahadeeshwarar , Guruvayur, Puthur in Kerala and television performances in Shankara TV. She has choreographed thematic productions during her college days. Her career as a dance instructor began at Nandini’s The 9th Count Dance Academy and has evolved to serve in the capacity of a senior teacher.

She holds a master degree in Commerce and works for a multinational bank. Her passion for dance is reflected through her keen interest to constantly learn with perseverance and dedication.

Ms. Aishwarya Valli Kakulapati - Instructor, Bangalore

aishwaryaAishwarya has been learning the ancient art of Bharatnatyam for the past 3 years from Nandini’s 9 th Count Dance Academy under the tutelage of Guru Smt Sri Nandini. Her talent was nutured under the watchful eye of her guru. Dance has always been an integral part of Aishwarya’s life, she is a trained dancer from Shaimak Dawar’s dance school. She continued her
dedication to Bharathnatyam. She has given number of Bharathnatyam performances along with her Guru Smt Sri Nandini and won many accolades some of them include the most renowned Thillai natrajar festival in Chidambaram, Chinnamelam Festival in Tanjavur , Thiruvengadu Natyanjali, Vaitheswaran Natyanjali, Chithirai Festival Pondichery, International Indian Classical Dance & Music Festival Bangalore, Kalpashree performing Arts in Chennai, Tirupati, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kerala, also performed at prestigious NMDC’s diamond Jubilee celebrations. She also gave national performances which include television performances in shankara TV and kappa TV footloose.

In continuing with her study of Music, she learnt Keyboard from Master Sivaramakrishnan and continues practicing. She is a choreographer as well, choreographed a number of songs in her school and college. She is a Law Graduate – BBA LLB batch of 2019.
